Blubbery Mess

"Have you ever seen that movie [The Notebook]? Don't even put it on, just slit your wrists."

That movie made me cry my eyes out, in that you-just-ripped-my-heart-out-and-tore-it-into-a-million-pieces-then-stomped-on-the-pieces kind of way.

This is what I'm saying! I avoided this movie for so long, then 20 minutes into it I was a crying disaster

more Carmina awesomeness!

"She's going to cry anyways, might as well put it in her butt."

"That's what girls with low self-esteem do, give up the butt."

They say Facebook is Google 5 years ago

...but as far as their shuttles are concerned, it's like Google now. As in, yes, we contract the exact same Bauer shuttles. With the exact same drivers. Picking up from the exact same locations. And apparently at very similar times. If you're both tired and euphoric from an intense workout in the morning, it's easy to be confused.

Some observations and key differences:

- Yes, there are markings to differentiate the FB shuttle, but like Google's the sign is small and easy to miss and does not actually say 'Facebook' (it's just a blue sheet of paper with the bus number on it).

- No, they do not use badge scanners, which would have been extremely helpful in helping me determine I was on the wrong shuttle.

- Yes, the passengers on both sets of shuttles are very similar; we dress similarly and are quiet, engineering types who aren't bothered by the fact that they've never seen me before, or that I'm wearing a non-FB badge around my neck.

- No, there is no wireless on the shuttle, or at least it's not the Google wireless.

- Yes, the ride is very comfortable, allowing me to take a nap and continue in my delusion for the majority of the trip.

- No, normally the Google office is not normally located in Palo Alto, CA. The Google shuttle does not normally exit on Page Mill Road. Off of 280.

- Yes, the FB office is very nice, albeit out of the way and very nondescript.

- The cost of a taxi ride from FB to Google is ~$30.

Sad. Were you at all concerned that you recognized no one on the bus?
